Requirements:           Minimum ~ High School Diploma or equivalent

Special Requirements:         TCLEOSE certification; valid Texas Driver’s License; clear criminal history and driving record; good knowledge and skill in the use and care of firearms and law enforcement related equipment. Minimum of ten (10) years investigative experience with at least five (5) of those years specializing with vehicle thefts. Previous task force experience preferred.

Description Of Job: The Auto Theft Investigator is a grant funded position to be appointed to the Tarrant County Regional Auto Theft Task Force. The investigator will report to the enforcement team leader and is responsible for investigating reports of pertinent criminal violations initiated by the Task Force from confidential informants or law enforcement information and assists. The investigator’s duties include preparation and execution of search warrants, arresting criminals responsible for the offenses and preparing the case for prosecution. The Task Force officers are on call 24/7 to assist officers in the 8 county service area. In addition to regular duties one officer serves as the Recognition/Apprehension training class coordinator. Each officer assists with the TCLEOSE training classes. Also one officer coordinates all mobile data computer upgrades with the county and one officer serves as BMV (Burglary of Motor Vehicle) Coordinator. The two (2) Fort Worth detectives and the Arlington detective are assigned to the C.O.B.R.A. Bait Program and work primarily on bait vehicle goals. In addition to the full time investigator from the Parker County Sheriff’s Office the other full time officers are from the police departments of: Arlington, Euless, Fort Worth, Haltom City, Hurst, Saginaw and Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office
