PRESS RELEASE

ParkerCounty Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a road rage call Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012.

ParkerCounty Sheriff Larry Flower said a Poolville man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from the incident.

As of Monday morning, William James Carr, 60, remained incarcerated.

The victim dialed 9-1-1 around 1:15 p.m. Sunday. When deputies arrived on scene, Carr reported he intentionally shot out the window of a Ford Mustang, after the vehicle had “cut him off.”

During the incident, a TexasParks and Wildlife game warden had detained Carr. The game warden reported he stopped at Ranger Highway and Jones Road, due to a subject holding Carr at gun point on the side of the road, in front of a vehicle.

The victim stated he made a lane-change near Ranger Highway and Bowie Drive, thinking he gave the truck behind him plenty of room. Further down the road on Ranger Highway near Greenwood Road, he heard a loud popping noise thinking he had blown a tire, but realized his rear windshield had been shattered. The victim told deputies he pulled over and dialed 9-1-1, when he observed Carr drive past him and pulled over ahead of the victim’s Mustang. The victim then stated he pulled a weapon out when Carr began approaching him.

The game warden then arrived on scene and ordered the victim to put the weapon down and detained the pair.

Deputies arrested Carr and collected weapons and ammunition from both the suspect and victims’ vehicles, along with a bullet fragment located inside the Mustang.

Carr’s bond had not been set as of Monday morning.
