Weatherford-Parker County Special Crimes Unit arrested a Hurst man Monday.
Soren Linus Anderson, 32, faces third-degree felony charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Anderson was convicted on a felony theft charge out of TarrantCounty. He was released from confinement in mid-April of this year. Texas law prohibits a convicted felon from possessing a firearm before the fifth anniversary date of their release.
At the time of Anderson’s arrest, he was operating a vehicle which had been reported stolen out of Round Rock Police Department.
Tarrant County Auto Theft Task Force members confirmed the vehicle as stolen and notified SCU members. Anderson was found in possession of a .380 handgun which was loaded, and located inside the stolen vehicle.
SCU members said the investigation is currently ongoing and additional charges and arrests are pending in the case.
