Two Arrested for Theft 2-25-2013

Parker County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two males in connection with a stolen property.
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the call was reported Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, shortly after 9 a.m. in the 7600 block of Prather Road in Weatherford.
The complainant reported he found a male suspect inside an unfamiliar silver Nissan Extera on his property next to his residence without permission.
The victim reported the male, later identified as Jordan Alan Dorris, 18, of Springtown, was “asleep” in the vehicle, when the victim removed the suspect and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived on scene.
The victim told deputies a 2001 Chevrolet dually pickup truck was missing from the property and five additional vehicles on the property had been rummaged through with a large amount of personal items and property removed, including a rifle.
Dorris told deputies that he and another suspect, identified as Caleb Andrew Kirkbride, 17, of Springtown, had taken the Nissan for a “joy ride,” which belonged to a juvenile female.
Deputies contacted the female, who stated a silver bracelet and her keys were missing and that neither suspect had permission to take the vehicle.
Dorris told deputies Kirkbride stole the dually pickup and property, while Dorris was sleeping in the Nissan.
Dorris was allowed to contact Kirkbride, who said he would return to the victim’s residence.
At that time, the victim’s neighbor arrived on scene and reported he observed the victim’s dually pickup driven by an unknown suspect, traveling on J.E. Woody Road, running motorists off the road and striking several street signs.
Deputies caught up with the dually in the 8600 block of Prather Road and detained Kirkbride.
Both men were arrested and taken to the Parker County Jail. Dorris was charged with theft of property $1,500 to $20,000 and theft of property $50 to $500. Kirkbride was charged with theft of a firearm, burglary of a vehicle, criminal mischief, theft of materials, theft of property $1,500 to $20,000 and burglary of a building. Both suspects remained incarcerated of Monday morning. Neither bond has been set for either suspect.
A list of stolen property included the Nissan Extera, the Chevrolet dually pickup, a Herrington & Richardson 30/30 rifle, a tool box, a pair of boots, a CD player from a vehicle, a checkbook, miscellaneous CDs, an $8,000 check, a pole saw, a gas pole saw, a chain saw, a propane heater, a portable heater, a set of keys, a brake controller, two credit cards, a flashlight, two pocketknives, miscellaneous hand tools, two junk lawn mowers and scrap copper. The estimated value of the stolen property was reported at more than $23,000. The majority of the items which were reported stolen were recovered during the initial investigation.
