PRESS RELEASE
Weatherford-Parker County Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (FAST) members arrested a man in connection to a recent burglary, where numerous weapons were reported stolen.
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the residential burglary was reported March 25, 2014, in the 400 block of Valley View Drive in Azle, Parker County.
Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division developed leads through an investigation, discovering the suspect in the case was the victim’s son.
Earlier this week, Sheriff’s investigators obtained a warrant for Christopher Jacob Hettick, 25, of Azle, and conducted a search for his whereabouts.
On Thursday, April 3, FAST members discovered Hettick had been staying at a hotel in Fort Worth off of East Lancaster Avenue, where a portion of the weapons were located.
A more in-depth investigation led to additional guns at a nearby residence, and area pawn shops.
Sheriff’s investigators recovered more than 20 guns which were reported stolen from the victim’s home along with ammunition, a knife, jewelry, motorcycle parts, iPads and computers.
Sheriff Fowler said the victims had a large amount of items stolen, making it difficult for them to account for everything at the time the report was taken until investigators recovered the items.
Hettick was charged with burglary of a habitation. His bond was set at $25,000, for the burglary charge. Hettick was also arrested for additional warrants not connected to the case. A no-bond was placed on Hettick as a result of one of the prior charges.
As of Friday afternoon, Hettick remained incarcerated at the Parker County Jail.
