A morning pursuit ended with the suspect in custody, stemming from a stolen vehicle.

Sheriffs’ deputies were searching for the red Chevrolet truck, after Springtown Police advised it was stolen from Kay’s Donut Shop on East State Highway 199.

Sheriff’s deputies observed the vehicle shortly after 10 a.m., and initiated an investigative traffic stop on State Highway 199, in Springtown.

Once the deputy approached the pickup truck the suspect sped away, leading them in a 20-mile pursuit, into Tarrant County and back into Parker County. The suspect reached speeds of 80 to 120 miles-per-hour during the pursuit, as he knocked over cones through a construction zone, traveled in the wrong direction down a one-way road and ran motorists off the roadway. Deputies reported the suspect had no obvious regard for life or property as he had four near-misses of head-on collisions.

The pursuit ended when the suspect voluntarily gave up and came to a stop in the 2400 block of Farmer Road north of Willow Park in Parker County. The deputies apprehended the suspect and discovered a plastic baggie in the suspect’s pocket containing 21suspected Xanax tablets.

The suspect was identified as Christopher Paul Pinneke, 35, of Springtown. Pinneke will be charged by Sheriff’s deputies for evading arrest detention with vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Springtown Police is expected to charge Pinneke with theft of a motor vehicle. Penneke also had a warrant issued out of Lake Worth for reckless driving.

Deputies said there may be additional charges pending from the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.
