CRIME OF THE WEEK
Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man in connection with numerous cases of vehicle burglaries and stolen firearms.
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said the suspect is identified as Ernest John Mixon, 23, of Benbrook. The suspect is known to have ties in Weatherford and Mineral Wells and has a unique tattoo sleeve on his right forearm and hand.
Sheriff’s investigators suspect Mixon is connected with as many as 14 cases of burglary of a vehicle from December 2019, to January 2020, resulting in at least 12 stolen handguns and multiple stolen credit and debit cards.
Mixon was identified on security recordings using several stolen credit and debit cards within hours of the burglaries.
“We want the public to know we consider this suspect armed and dangerous,” said Sheriff Fowler. “We strongly advise the public not to approach the suspect, but if he is located, we urge you to contact your law enforcement agency immediately.”
Mixon is wanted on three Parker County warrants for fraud use possession of identifying information and theft of a firearm. Additional Parker County warrants are pending the investigation. Mixon is also wanted on six additional warrants out of other Texas law enforcement agencies.
The suspect is currently out on bond for previous burglary cases, pending prosecution.
