2-5-2013 Suspicious Device Found Inside Azle Home

ParkerCounty Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Monday after responding to a call in the 1300 block of Oakridge Road, in Azle.
The caller requested deputies investigate a suspicious device discovered inside a residence she owns.
Deputies secured the scene and discovered a pipe with capped ends, which appeared to be suspicious inside a bedroom of the home.
As a precautionary measure, deputies contacted Parker County Fire Marshal’s Office personnel along with the Fort Worth Fire Department Bomb Squad. Representative from both agencies arrived on scene for an initial investigation. Officials also notified Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).
Officers with the bomb squad collected the device. Its contents have yet to be determined.
A search of the residence also revealed four debit/credit cards belonging to individuals other than the occupant of the residence. During the search, a male occupant arrived on scene, later identified as Jerry Dale Allen, 35.
Allen was arrested and charged with fraud use possession of identifying information, a state jail felony if convicted.
Allen was taken to the Parker County Jail, where he remained incarcerated as of Tuesday afternoon. His bond was set at $7,500.
ParkerCounty Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the suspicious device.
Both cases are pending the investigations.
