May 6, 2013.
PRESS RELEASE
ParkerCounty Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Weatherford man in connection to a person with a weapon incident.
ParkerCounty Sheriff Larry Fowler said deputies responded to the 1886 Mineral Wells Highway Sunday at 3:15 a.m.
When deputies arrived, two men were detained by officers. The 29-year-old male victim told deputies he was near a taco stand outside of a bar when the suspect approached him and began arguing. The suspect was later identified as Mikey Floyd Huff, Jr, 43. The victim reported he did not know Huff or why he had been approached. The victim told deputies he felt unsafe when Huff displayed a loaded .45 caliber handgun and took the handgun away from Huff, restraining him. The victim used Huff’s own weapon to restrain him until deputies and officers arrived.
Huff was detained along with the weapon. His Dodge truck was towed from the scene. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He later posted a $5,000 bond and was released around noon that same day.
Deputies believe alcohol is a related factor in the incident.
