ParkerCounty Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division investigators are investigating a shooting incident which led to a female being injured.

Sheriff Larry Fowler said deputies were contacted when a 38-year-old female was brought to a local hospital with an apparent gunshot wound to her left arm and chest injuries.

The incident was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Opal Drive, ParkerCounty, Thursday around 9 p.m., May 16, 2013.

A female witness dropped the victim off at a local hospital and then left the area.

Investigators have identified the witness and are gathering facts relating to the incident as of Friday afternoon. A possible suspect, known to the victim, has also been identified in connection to the case. At this time, the Sheriff’s Office is not releasing any further details due to the ongoing investigation.

The victim was transferred to a Fort Worth hospital later Thursday evening due to the severity of her injuries.
