Man Arrested in Connection with May Shooting Incident

Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team members arrested a man in connection with a May 2013 shooting.
Around 9 p.m., on May 16, Investigators with the Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division were contacted when a 38-year-old female was brought to a local hospital with an apparent gunshot wounds to her left arm and chest.
The incident was reported to have occurred in the 100 block of Opal Drive. Witnesses reported an undisclosed female dropped the victim off at a local hospital and then left the area. The victim was later transferred to a Fort Worth hospital due to the severity of her injuries.
Sheriff’s investigators identified the suspect as Gabriel Castillo, 46, an acquaintance of the victim.
Investigators obtained a warrant for Castillo and FAST members discovered his vehicle at a gas station in Waxahachie. Castillo was taken into custody Wednesday, July 31, and transported back to ParkerCounty.
Castillo remains incarcerated at the Parker County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a parole violation.
His bond was set at $75,000 for the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. A ‘no bond’ was placed on Castillo for the parole violation.
Sheriff’s investigators are seeking an additional warrant on Castillo for possession of a firearm by a felon.
