Parker County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating two theft cases occurring this past weekend.

The first incident was reported Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, around 7:30 a.m., in the 100 block of Rainbow Trail in Springtown near Highway 199.

The complainant told deputies sometime overnight, unknown suspect(s) damaged a meter box and stole about 150 feet of aluminum wiring running electricity to a building on the property.

The suspect(s) apparently cut a section of PVC pipe containing the wire in order to gain access to the wiring. The damage and loss of property equaled about $2,000.

The second incident was reported a few hours later that same day shortly after 10 a.m., in the 100 block of Land of Goshen, also in Springtown. An employee of Patterson UTI reported unknown suspect(s) entered the property by cutting a fence and stole several thousand dollars worth of materials from the complex.

The employee stated a 50-pound copper plate was taken, valued at $3,000. The damage to the fence resulted in an additional $1,500 loss.

Anyone with information about these crimes is urged to contact the Parker County Sheriff’s Office at (817) 594-8845, or the Parker County Crime Stoppers hotline at (817) 599-5555. You may remain anonymous when contacting Crime Stoppers.
