ParkerCounty Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an apparent homicide call Thursday in the 1600 block of Wildwood Trail, in Weatherford.

ParkerCounty Sheriff Larry Fowler said the call came in just before 5 p.m., from a man who reported he entered the residence to find his wife deceased on the floor of the living room. Although the victim, identified by her driver’s license as Linda Surginer Preston, 47, appeared to have died from knife wounds, the official cause and manner of death are pending autopsy results from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The complainant reported the rear door of the home was opened and the victim’s vehicle was missing.

Crime scene investigators processed the scene.

ParkerCounty Sheriff’s investigators are following leads in connection to the case, which is ongoing.
