CRIME OF THE WEEK
ParkerCounty Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a burglary of A to Z Grocery convenience store in Azle, ParkerCounty.
Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the call just before 2 a.m. this morning in the 6000 block of Grace Lane near FM 730.
Deputies discovered the suspects gained entry into the business after hours by apparently using chains and wrapping them around the front glass doors and attaching them to a red semi-truck cab then pulling away from the building, forcing the doors open and damaging them.
Store employees arrived on scene and reported an undetermined amount of lottery tickets and cigarettes had been stolen along with a display of glass pipes.
Sheriff’s investigators were able to obtain a description of a vehicle used in the commission of the burglary.
Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Arnett said the store surveillance cameras were able to capture a male and female suspect backing the truck cab to the front of the building, securing chains from the truck to the front door and pulling forward, then entering the store and taking several items.
The suspects are described as a white male ranging from 30 to 40 years-of age, standing about 6-feet tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds. The white female suspect is also ranging in age from 30 to 40, standing approximately 5-feet-6-inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds.
