PRESS RELEASE

ParkerCounty Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Weatherford woman after responding to a person with a weapon call early Monday morning, Oct. 21, 2013.

ParkerCounty Sheriff Larry Fowler said deputies were called out to the 5200 block of Tin Top Road around 12:34 a.m., in reference to a female walking down the road carrying a weapon.

Sheriff’s deputies observed Donna Sue Ellis, 66, holding a .38 revolver, speaking of monsters.

When deputies repeatedly ordered Ellis to put down the handgun, she refused each time stating, “no.”

Sheriff’s reports state Ellis continued to approach deputies taking very small steps. Deputies reported Ellis pointed her weapon directly at them twice, demanding for them to allow her to pass.

Deputies reported Ellis continued to advance toward them and would not retreat or comply with their commands to put the weapon down. Deputies then deployed a taser on Ellis and retrieved the weapon taking her into custody. LifeCare paramedics responded to the scene to medically assess Ellis.

Ellis was soon released from medical observations and arrested. She was booked into the Parker County Jail on charges of aggravated assault against a public servant with a deadly weapon. As of Monday afternoon, Ellis remained incarcerated. Her bond was set at $20,000.
