The Parker County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation and assistance with the U.S. Secret Service and the Texas Rangers, made an arrest in a cold case homicide.

In 2005, Bobbie Sue Hill was discovered in the 1300 block of Jenkins Road, in Aledo, in a creek bed near a bridge. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s autopsy revealed Hill had been murdered by manual strangulation.

At the time of the murder in March 2005, all leads had been exhausted, until recently when a composite drawing was created by a Texas Rangers Forensic artist. The artist visited the Tarrant County Jail, where an inmate was documented as being the last person to see Hill alive. The witness gave a physical description to the artist who created two drawings of the suspect – one described at the time of the murder and a second of the suspect using age-progression. Both drawings and a press release were recently circulated to local media, and several tips were received identifying the suspect as Larry Wes Driskill, 52, of Aledo.

Weatherford-Parker County Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team members arrested Driskill on a warrant Wednesday evening. Driskill was charged with murder. He faces up to five to 99 years, or life in prison, if convicted.

Driskill’s bond has not been set.

Sheriff Larry Fowler said, “I hope Miss Hill’s family can finally come to some type of closure with this arrest. I would like to commend all the investigators involved over the last 10 years who never gave up and did an outstanding job in finding her murderer.”
