Sheriff’s Investigator Sgt. Ricky Montgomery Recognized by Federal Agencies

Parker County Sheriff’s Sergeant Ricky Montgomery was recognized for his exceptional meritorious service as a member of the Multi-Agency Aryan Brotherhood of Texas Task Force and Operation Wheel Alignment by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Sgt. Montgomery was presented a certificate of joint commendation Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, for his contribution to the extensive investigation which led to the arrest and federal conviction of 73 Aryan Brotherhood of Texas leaders and gang members from 2009 to 2014.

The award stated, “During this period, Sergeant Montgomery’s superior investigative skill and dedication to duty significantly contributed to the federal convictions.”

According to the DOJ and ATF, Sgt. Montgomery’s performance as part of the task force, “is in keeping with the finest traditions of Texas Law Enforcement and reflects distinct credit upon him and the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.”

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said he is proud to have Sgt. Montgomery as part of the Parker County Sheriffs’ investigative team.

“He is definitely deserving of this award,” Sheriff Fowler said. “Sgt. Montgomery is an outstanding asset to our department. He assists in leading our Criminal Investigative Division in the highest professional law enforcement standards. We are very proud of his accomplishments.”

Sgt. Montgomery said he is overwhelmed to receive the award.

“It is humbling to be recognized by both federal agencies,” Sgt. Montgomery said. “We had an amazing team during the operation. Each member of the team dedicated themselves to the task force. I am proud I had the opportunity to be a part of that group. This award is truly an honor.”
